QUARTER FINAL FINISH

Posted in General

Darren Webster capped a magificent year with a great run in the William Hill World Championship. The Norwich darts star reached the last 8 stage before succumbing to Welsh youngster Jamie Lewis. The route to the quarter finals consisted of wins against South African Devon Petersen, Australian Simon Whitlock and Spaniard Antonio Alcinas. At the beginning of 2017 Webster was rated number 34 in the PDC order of merit. Performances that have included winning a pro tour event in July, quarter final finish in the World Matchplay, last 16 in the Players Championship Finals and Grand Slam have seen Darren rise to a career high number 20. It is a phenomenal achievement from the 48 year old and one would be foolish to write him off winning a major TV tournament in the next 12 months.
