Team Target Reel in Victory After Dramatic Final-Hour Fightback

Team Target Reel in Victory After Dramatic Final-Hour Fightback

August 26th saw the 14th edition of the Target Sports Stars Fishing broadcast on ITV4. 32 highly competitive sports personalities fought it out at Tunnel Barn Fishery to become crowned both singles and team champions. The charity event, which raised £47,000 for our chosen charities was won by title sponsors Team Target, consisting of chairman Garry Plummer, 2 time PDC world champion Adrian Lewis, PDC world champion Rob Cross and current PDC World Champion and current world number 1, Luke Littler MBE.

The final outcome again was decided in the last hour with Team Wickman, consisting of boxer Fran Hennessy, Rugby World Champion Mo Hunt, netballers Mikki Austin and Beth Brittian, in front going into the last quarter. The girls, looked nailed on to win the title, but the fish stopped feeding and gradually Team Target clawed it back to win convincingly. It was equally frustrating for Beth in the singles championship, in front throughout, she was beaten by Target’s Adrian Lewis in the last quarter to finish 2nd for the second year in succession. If someone deserves to win next year, its got to be Beth!

We would like to thank all our, sponsors, broadcasters, production crew, competitors, Tunnel Barn Fishery and angling experts, who help make it into the event that it has become.

See you all next year.
